About the Role
We are hiring a Sales Leader to lead, manage, and organize our door-to-door sales team. This is the person who owns the day-to-day performance of our reps in the field: recruiting and onboarding new hires, training them on the product and the pitch, setting daily and weekly targets, running ride-alongs, coaching in real time, and making sure every rep knows what good looks like and how to get there. This is a hands-on leadership role, not a corner-office role. You’ll spend real time in neighborhoods alongside your team.
We’re building fiber aggressively, which means every week brings new neighborhoods to sell into. Your job is to make sure we have the right people, the right systems, and the right execution to convert that opportunity into customers.
This role is for someone who has built and run a direct sales team before, ideally selling something that requires real discipline to sell, not something that sells itself. Think home services, telecom, alarm, solar, pest, roofing, or similar backgrounds. If your sales experience is inbound leads from a hot SaaS pipeline, this is probably not the right fit.
This role is based in our Southern Wisconsin or Northern Illinois service territory, with regular time in the field across the markets we serve.
What You’ll Do
- Recruit, hire, and onboard door-to-door sales representatives across our expanding footprint
- Build and run a structured training program covering product knowledge, pitch, objection handling, and close technique
- Set weekly and monthly quotas, track performance daily, and hold the team accountable to the numbers
- Run daily huddles, weekly one-on-ones, and regular ride-alongs to coach reps in the field
- Design and manage commission plans, spiffs, contests, and performance incentives
- Plan and assign territories in coordination with the construction and marketing teams to align sales push with fiber releases
- Own the CRM: ensure every door knocked, lead generated, and sale closed is tracked accurately
- Report on pipeline, close rates, rep performance, and cost-of-acquisition to the President and leadership team
- Partner with marketing on neighborhood launches, promotions, collateral, and campaign effectiveness
- Identify and promote top performers into senior rep and team lead roles as the organization scales
- Manage sales team budget, spend, and operational discipline
Who You Are
- Experience leading a direct sales team and scaling it as the company grows
- Numbers-driven: you live in the pipeline report, you know your close rates cold, and you make decisions based on data
- Organized and disciplined: you run a tight ship, set expectations clearly, and follow through
- A hands-on coach: you’re in the field with your reps, not hiding behind a desk
- Resilient: you’ve sold things that were hard to sell and you know how to keep a team motivated through the grind

What You’ll Bring
Required:
- 5+ years of direct sales experience, with at least 2+ years in a sales management or leadership role
- Demonstrated track record of hitting and exceeding quota, both personally and as a manager
- Experience recruiting, training, and managing a team of at least 5 reps
- Experience selling a product that requires discipline, follow-up, and resilience (home services, telecom, direct-to-consumer, alarm, solar, pest, roofing, mattress, or similar)
- Strong command of CRM tools and sales reporting
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to spend significant time in the field
- Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred:
- Prior experience running a door-to-door or direct-to-consumer sales team
- Background in telecom, ISP, or home services sales
- Experience designing commission plans and sales incentive structures
- Mission, military, or other background involving discipline and managing through adversity
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Compensation
- Base salary commensurate with experience
- Uncapped commission and performance bonuses tied to team quota attainment, install volume, and growth metrics
- Top performers expected to earn six figures
